Product Description

We’ve outdone ourselves with the 7 pin version of our lock picking practice locks – The Ultimate Adversary Practice Lock.  Pin stack retainer screws make it easy re-key this lock cylinder millions of different key combinations for millions of different lock picking challenges. An assortment of more than 100 extra bottom pins, top pins, master pins, and springs is included.

This 7-pin version of our practice lock also includes three different types of security pins:  spool pins, serrated pins, and T-pins.  Also included is a 5 pin demonstration key with it’s own pins to let the beginner demonstrate a lock’s normal operation before re-pinning the  lock for lock picking.

The key way is a Schlage C, also commonly called SC1.  This key way offers more challenge than our 5 pin practice lock but is not especially difficult to work in.

The assortment of spool, serrated, and T-pins will help you to learn to overcome pick resistant cylinders.  Special security pins are becoming more common every year.  A decade ago, security pins were rare.  Today, even some of the cheapest hardware store brands include security pins to make them pick resistant. Most locksmiths never develop the skills to consistently open these locks. With practice, you can learn to consistently open even pick resistant locks.

Thousands of our practice locks have been used to master the skill of lock picking in over 40 countries.

Would have been a 5* review except for a few small things. The 5 pin key that was included had such a bad biting that I was able to take it in 3 seconds on my first attempt (with standard pins). Yes, I can make it more difficult with security pins or change the biting, but having a biting that represents what is found in the field would make it more of a “real world” training aid. Second, it came with a 5 pin key yet it is a 7 pin lock. A 7 pin key (like a 6 pin lfic) would have been ideal as you could still populate only 5 pins to give it that real world challenge or load up all 7 to boost your challenge level.

Aside from that, the lock quality and baggy of pins is excellent.

I have just received this lock and it arrived very quickly in the mail. Kudos to Learnlockpicking, USPS and Canada Post. I am very happy with my purchase. I discovered the keyway to be tighter than other Schlage SC 1 practice locks that I have in my collection. I don’t know why that would be but it is a positive for me when I am learning feel. I may order the 6 pin version as it has the Sargent L-series keyway to practice on. The bag of pins, springs etc. is fantastic I can see I will never tire of this lock or the combination choices it gives me in pinning. I find also the lock very light to through into my pocket when I go out and find a moment to practice. I rarely use a vice and had no problem in holding the lock in my hand. Two very big thumbs up.

My previous practice locks were starting to get to easy, so I ordered this to help improve my skills. Tolerances are great, comes with loads of security pins, and the keyway provides a good challenge. Excellent product!

    (verified owner):

I bought it to learn security pins, but it goes far beyond that now I have it. It has some good tolerances, not as much slop as with my old practice locks, they were good and served their purpose. I don’t think I will out grow this lock anytime soon. A quality product, prompt shipping and I would recommend this to anyone trying to further their skills.

This is a great lock for learning how to pick security pins and how to get past an eccentric key way and I am very happy with it

  6. 5 out of 5

    (verified owner):

This is an excellent practice lock. I don’t have a clamp, so it took a little while to get used to holding this lock in my hand. Once I got used to the feel, it was fine. You can quickly and easily re-pin this lock for any skill level. So, it grows with you as you become a better picker.

This is the best practice lock that I have found. It is very versital. The shipping was fast and every thing arrived in excellent condition.

The lock is really well-made! You get a bunch of different pins and springs, making it infinitely complex. It is easy to repin using the included allen wrench. It’s an A+ product!

  9. 2 out of 5

    (verified owner):

I absolutely love the concept of this, but the key way style was a poor choice for beginning learners. I’m spending more time trying to fight my picks into the key way than I am actually manipulating the pins.

  10. 5 out of 5

    (verified owner):

Lots of good stuff comes with it! Keep you busy for quite some time nice keyway nothing too restrictive; absolutely a nicely machined practice lock. Was worth every penny!

  11. 4 out of 5

    (verified owner):

It’s a good versatile lock that you can practice with and ramp up or ramp down the difficulty as you need to. the downside is that all the pins and springs come in one bag and it’s going to take you at least a half hour to separate them. if you don’t have a jig or vise to mount the lock as you are practicing, you will quickly get a hand cramp. All in all, not bad and good to hone your skills.

Great value and well made. Plenty of options and learning to be done with this set. Now I need a small kit to hold all the different pins and parts.

I was going between this and the 6 pin version. I opted for this since it came with more security pin options. I almost started regretting it since I started with the 5-pin demonstration key pinning, and couldn’t even find out how to get my pick in the keyway. I dumbed it down to 2-pin and struggled for days.

I finally figured it out, and was able to step back up to the 5-pin version, then work in 5 spool pins and pick it easily within a week. I love playing with different pinning versions. The keyway is tough, but I was able to figure it out.

This lock set is exactly what I was looking for. I love the way it teaches me the feel as I add pins. I haven’t gotten to the point that I want to start in on the spools or serrated pins but thye are part of this set when I get good enough to move forward

The excellent quality i expect from LearnLockPicking is in full effect with this. An wonderful array of pins, an easily re-pinned lock, and a challenge that you get to move up or down in difficulty. Many hours of fun, just learning to re-pin without losing things, as well as picking.

    :

Just got this lock. Love it. Keyway is more challenging than I thought but doable even for me with zero experience. I would recommend a good set of pinning tweezers, those pins/springs are way small and difficult with my fat fingers.
Mine didn’t come with an allen wrench, no biggie, standard size and I threw one of my spares in my kit.
I also wish I would’ve gotten a clear lock. While I know how it is supposed to work, the “feel” is what I have struggled with the most. Not being able to see inside makes it a surprise when I get an open. Or worse yet not knowing what an overset feels like.

Loving this lock so far, challenging keyway and love that you can progressively pin with whatever u want so easily. Only thing I would suggest is a pamphlet insert that explains more in depth on how to pin this lock. As a new picker I found this to be the most daunting part of the process.a more comprehensive explanation of how to pin for the new picker would be great.Ty for making this lock available for us !
